$5 Million Guaranteed MicroMillions 8 Kicks Off On PokerStars

20/04/2016 17:09

The eighth edition of the ever popular online poker tournament series MicroMillions kicked off on July 17, 2015 at the world’s largest online poker site, PokerStars.

Every time that PokerStars runs the MicroMillions, it is promised that the series will be bigger and better than ever before. This year is no different. Featuring a whopping 100 tournaments that have buy-ins as low as $0.11 and increasing to a still-affordable $22, MicroMillions really is a poker series that everyone can enjoy regardless of bankroll size and skill level.

Although the buy-ins for MicroMillions 8 are small in comparison to some of the other festivals PokerStars runs, the prizes are anything but small. PokerStars has given each of the 100 events large guaranteed prize pools, which combined come to an astonishing $5 million.

Kicking off the series was the $0.11+R NL Hold’em Hyper-Active that had a guaranteed prize pool of $20,000, which seems astronomical consider the paltry amount that the tournament commands for a buy-in.

The tiny buy-in and huge prizes will continue at least four times per day, every day, until July 27, so there is plenty of time to get involved in this amazing tournament series.

Each of the 100 tournaments are sure to attract players in droves, but one event in particular is already attracting plenty of attention: Event #98, the MicroMillions 8 Main Event.

Despite only costing $22 to enter, the Main Event boasts a seven-figure guarantee on it. That’s right, for $22 players in the Main Event have to chance to play for a slice of a $1 million prize pool, of which at least $100,000 is reserved for the eventual champion.

The largest and richest MicroMillions Main Event took place in 2013 when a packed crowd of 59,213 players bought into the MicroMillions Main Event and created a nearly $1.2 million prize pool. When the tournament was over and the dust had settled, "stygher" was the last player standing and he had $160,726 added to his PokerStars account, which was only $20,000 less than that weekend’s Sunday Million champion won.

Take Part in the MicroMillions Challenge

In addition to potentially gigantic payouts for a tiny investment, players who enter the code "MM8" and then play six or more MicroMillions events receive a ticket to an All-In Shootout where they can win a cash prize in mere minutes.

Play between six and nine MicroMillions events and a ticket to a $15,000 All-In Shooutout is all yours. Play 10 or more and you receive a ticket to a $30,000 All-In Shoutout.

Each shootout is capped at 60,000 players and is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, so play your events as soon as you can.

On top of all the above, each time you reach the money in a MicroMillions event, you are awarded leaderboard points. Finish in the top 100 points earners and win a Sunday Million ticket worth $215. Finish at the top of the MicroMillions 8 leaderboard, and 26 tickets to the Sunday Million are yours.
